Eist het leventje van sex, drugs & alcohol, eigen aan het muzikantenwereldje, nu zijn slachtoffers in wielermiddens ....blijkbaar wel, want van enige vorm van muzikale en fysieke slijtage is bij Rosie Flores nog geen sprake.

The rockabilly filly uit San Antonio, Texas, bijna zestig lentes jong, heeft immers geen nood aan enig pleisterwerk van Jeff Hoeyberghs en ook haar "altenative country meets the rockabilly revival meets California guitar virtuosity " is anno 2009 nog steeds een streling voor de oortjes. 

"The Girl of the Century" deed voor haar nieuwe album beroep op Wacko brother John Langford / lead & backing vocals, guitars, piano, en zijn hobbyclubje the Pine Valley Cosmonauts : John Rice / electric lead gt, acoustic gt, pedal steel, mandolin, dobro, fiddle, Joe Camarillo / (Wacko Bros, drums & percussion, backing vocals) Tom Ray / upright bass (Neko Case, Devil in a Woodpile) en Pat Brennan (piano). Het resultaat is verbluffend ...."This Little Girl is Still  Rockin' " en zet dat met Calvin Carter's " I Ain't Got You", Johnny Cash's "Get Rhythm", de Bryant's klassieker " You're the One" en "This Cat in the Doghouse" (co - writer Patricia Vonne) nog eens netjes op een rijtje. Maar ook met de smoky, bluesy songs " Chauffer" ," Dark Enough at Midnight" - with John Rice on fiddle / dobro, the Bob Wills smooth swing of  "Little Bells" en met het old school country - duet " Whose Gonna Take your Carbage out" (with John Langford) laat Rosie Flores er geen twijfel over bestaan dat zij nog steeds haar plaatsje heeft in het americana / alt. country / roots "Home".

Rosie Flores is still alive en beslist nog niet toe aan haar "Last Song"  - een creatie van John Langford die verdomd veel lijkt op Patsy Cline's " I Got your Picture" - voor Bloodshot Records !  (SWA)
